CORN, BEANS, AND BUCKS

For facebook readers, see the full blog at: http://hastwildlifeadventures.blogspot.com/

Our "crop" food plots at the farm have certainly paid off.  A few good deer have been seen late in the evenings over the last week.  If anything, the food plots and deer sightings will heighten the excitement as we get closer to the season.

Deer food.  Also notice the coyote scat in the background that is full of corn.

My grandfather's penthouse.  This may seen extravagant, but at age 90, this give my grandfather a safe, warm, and dry place to hunt deer.

Good stand of corn near the penthouse.

Turkeys are dusting on the edges of the corn field.  This is one stop shopping - dust the bugs off and get a crop full of corn.

Nice  young buck in the bean field

The buck on the left is most certainly a shooter.

Five bucks in one field.

The second elevated blind I have built for less than 100$.  We ended up loosing the roof on the move from the barn to the field, but it was quickly repaired.  This blind, with the steps removed, can be lifted and moved with the bucket on our tractor.  The next step will be outfitting the blind with camo material and painting the wood structure.
